KERRY County Council has announced details of concessions in parking charges over the Christmas period in Tralee.

Each year, the Council provides limited free parking in Tralee, Killarney and Listowel in an effort to encourage people to shop locally and support local businesses in the run up to Christmas.

The parking charge concessions apply in Tralee from Friday, December 6 to Sunday, January 5 inclusive. There will be free parking in all Council-owned car parks subject to a two-hour limit between 9.30am and 2.00pm each day. On-street parking unaffected by this arrangement.

In Listowel, during the same dates, on- street free parking is available throughout the day subject to a 2-hour max stay limit and and additional 400 spaces off-street are free.
