€106,355 For Kerry Projects Under Community Monuments Fund

THREE Kerry projects will receive €106,355 between them from the Community Monuments Fund.

The Community Monuments Fund aims to enable important conservation works to be carried out on archaeological monuments which are deemed to be significant and in need of urgent support.

The funding will go to Ballinskelligs Castle  (€77,705); Castleisland Castle (€21,516) and Cloghane Churches (€7,134).

This tranche of funding will specifically improve access to archaeological monuments and improve their presentation while also build resilience in archaeological monuments enabling them to withstand the effects of climate change.

The funding has been welcomed by Minister for Education Norma Foley and Kerry Fine Gael Deputy Brendan Griffin.
