Eleven More COVID Cases Reported For Kerry, 431 Nationally

THERE were eleven new cases of COVID-19 reported for Kerry this evening.

There were 12 more deaths reported and 431 new cases of the virus reported nationally this evening. Of the deaths reported today, four occurred in April, two occurred in March and six occurred in January. The median age of those who died was 76 years and the age range was 42-91 years.

The 14 day incidence of new cases for Kerry is 44 per 100,000 people. There have been 65 cases reported in the same period and the rolling five day average of cases is 6.

Kerry is the county with the fifth lowest incidence of cases in the past 14 days. The national incidence rate over the past 14 days is 132.

160 of today’s reported cases are in Dublin, 50 in Kildare, 34 in Donegal, 21 in Meath, 20 in Limerick and the remaining 146 cases are spread across 20 other counties.

There have now been 242,105 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland and 4,812 people who died with the virus since the start of the pandemic.

As of 8am today, 192 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of which 49 are in ICU. There have been 13 additional hospitalisations in the past 24 hours.

As of last Monday (12 April) there have been 1,076,216 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Ireland:
