Event In Town Park To Celebrate 50 Years Of Save The Green Committee

THE Tralee Save the Green Committee will be 50 years together this year and to mark the historic occasion, a very special commemorative event will take place in the Town Park on the Friday, September 6, at 6 pm.

The location will be at the ‘Old Oak Tree’ near the Denny Street entrance. The group was formed in 1969 to oppose the creation of a road at this area.

There have been other issues in the interim including the group gathering 10,818 signatures in opposition to a plan to allow traffic enter near Siamsa Tíre in 2013.

There’ll be music and the event is set to be a colourful and memorable affair. All friends and supporters are invited and more details will be announced closer to the event.
