A VISITOR centre in Killflynn, which thrived in the boom years, has been put up for sale.
A Day In The Bog, is going on the market for €129,000 and the agent charged of selling the former attraction is Declan Woulfe of Abbeyfeale based, Property Professionals Woulfe & Co.
He says interest in the property has been good since it went on the market last Saturday.
“Basically the property is in need of refurbishment, but it would make an ideal cafe or tourist stop,” said Declan Woulfe.
Since it closed down several years ago, the site of A Day in The Bog now looks neglected with large weeds and vegetation now surrounding a place that once buzzed with tourists and passers-by.
The centre opened its doors in 1997 and saw quite a lot of trade during the ‘Celtic Tiger’ years, the cafe being a regular stop for tradesmen and builders to and from work.
A Day in The Bog, is located 14 kilometres from Tralee and 12 kilometres from Listowel. The site includes 12 acres of land.
The venture began as a community initiative with locals pulling together €180,000 for the project with a further €100,000 coming from the government.
