Four Things To Do Around Tralee This Weekend

.

The weather isn’t going to be great, but luckily most of the events mentioned below are indoors…apart from the football on Sunday when it’s supposed to be dry!…

Friday

1. Table quiz…

Tralee Rowing Club is inviting everyone to get their teams ready or join a table at the annual Fun Quiz Night on Friday, at O’Donnell’s Bar Mounthawk, starting at 8pm.

The cost is €40 per team of four with great prizes to be won. This is an important fundraising event for the club that helps with the maintenance of boats and rowing equipment.

Saturday

2. Get coding…

Students aged from seven to 17 are invited to a major coding event in IT Tralee. Mega Dojo 2018 takes place at the North Campus.

With support from CoderDojo Ireland, CoderDojo MidWest and the Higher Education Authority, IT Tralee invite young people aged from 7-17 to a day of free coding.

Four of the six sessions are sold out such is the interest but if you head to the website here there’s still places on the Beginners Web Design and Intermediate Web Design classes.

3. Open Day…

If you have a child going to secondary school over the next couple of years, then a trip to Coláiste Gleann Lí in Clash will be very handy for you.

Parents can find out more about the progressive secondary school which has grown considerably over the past number of years. It starts at 10am until 1pm.

Sunday

4. Championship action…

Kerins O’Rahillys will be bidding to reach their first Kerry SFC final since 2008 when they face favourites and current champions Dr Crokes in Austin Stack Park.

The Blues will need all the support they can get to stop the Killarney side, despite their victory over the black and amber last month.

That game throws in at 3.45pm and it’s part of a fascinating double header with David Clifford’s East Kerry and Paul Geaney’s Dingle going head to head at 2pm. It’s the only place to be on Sunday.
