Funding Of Nearly €290,000 For Streets In Tralee

TRALEE is to receive  €289,000 for improvements to Bridge Street, Rock Street and Russell Street.

Kerry Fine Gael TD and Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin, announced this morning that Killarney and Tralee towns are to receive nearly €1.3m in Government funding for smarter travel and street enhancement initiatives.

This major funding comes under the Government’s Project Ireland 2040 initiative via The Urban Regeneration and Development fund (URDF) through Minister Eoghan Murphy.

Minister Griffin said: “For Tralee, this latest funding boost that I am announcing today will help to continue the excellent work that has already been carried out on Denny Street and The Mall, with €289,000 being allocated to go towards works on Bridge Street, Rock Street and Russell Street.

“For Killarney, a full one million euro is being provided by the Government to implement a number of smarter travel initiatives in the town, including an extensive network of new dedicated cycle lanes in and around the town, and improved traffic management works to alleviate congestion.”
