STUDENTS from Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí enjoyed their annual sports day at Na Gaeil GAA pitch last Friday and a local organisation benefitted from the day.
Organised by teacher Dónal Ó Ruanaidh, with help from the other teachers, some 360 students took part in a range of events including cartwheel racing, a skipping competition, sack race, athletics, hurling and much more all through Irish.
A collection was made on the day for Jigsaw Kerry – the organisation which helps young people with mental health issues – and the proceeds (€400) were presented on Wednesday to Jimmy Mulligan of Jigsaw Kerry, who thanked the staff and students for their generosity.
