STUDENTS from Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí headed for Dublin on Wednesday to accept a flag for their promotion of Irish.
The purple flag is called ‘An Gaelbhratach’ and is awarded by Coiste na Gaeilge who promote the Irish language in educational institutions around the country.
The flag was earned through assessments of Irish language events which Gaelcholáiste students organised throughout the year.
Representatives from each class were involved in organising events such as céilí’s and Irish language bingos.
RTE’s Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh presented the students with the flag at a ceremony in St Pat’s College in Drumcondra, Dublin.
