garda_1GARDAI in Killarney are still appealing for the public’s help after two teenagers, from Tralee and Killarney, lost their lives in a road accident near Glenflesk in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Sixteen-year-old Dylan McCarthy from Cois Coille in Tralee and 17-year-old Anthony Battles from Hazlewood Drive, Ballyspillane, Killarney died when their car hit a ditch on the Killarney side of Glenflesk village.

Their bodies were taken to Kerry General Hospital for postmortem examinations.

Despite the accident occurring in the early hours of Saturday morning, the silver Toyota Avensis was only discovered at midday on Saturday by a passing motorist as it was concealed by bushes. It is thought the car left the road, hitting a ditch and a tree at Killaha, two kilometres from Glenflesk church.

Gardai are now trying to piece together the last movements of their car and would like to hear from anyone who saw it late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
