Gardaí at Tralee Garda station are warning the public after a report of a bogus caller in the general Tralee area.

The male, who is described as being in his 20’s, wearing a white hat and black jacket is claiming to be an employee of the Revenue Department.

He is calling under the pretence of carrying out follow up enquiries stemming from searches carried out in the Killarney area last week under Operation Tarmac.

The man is claiming his job is to return money owed to individuals who have been victim of bogus work carried out in their homes.

Banking details as well as other general information are being sought by this individual. Gardaí urge people to contact their local Garda station and report any incidents of this nature or additionally reports can be made anonymously to the Garda Confidential Line on 1800666111.
