MET Eireann have issued a status Orange weather alert for Munster and Leinster with temperatures set to plummet to -2 to -6 degrees celsius.
The weather warning is in effect from tonight at 8pm to Thursday morning at 10am.
Kerry County Council are advising caution on the roads tonight and in the morning and crews will be out salting priority roads early tonight. Being near the coast, we usually escape the worst of the cold weather in Tralee and it’s unlikely temperatures will be anywhere near -6, but it’s better to be safe than sorry on the road.
The weather is set to continue to be cold but mostly dry for the rest of the week, over the weekend and early next week.
Temperatures won’t be as low coming closer to normal values over the weekend but we can still expect frosty nights.
It may be cold but it sure makes a pretty photo…
