KERRY County Council have begun tarmacking the carpark near Cockleshell beach.

The makeover for the car-park will be welcomed by townsfolk and tourists alike who  access the scenic area.

The area is a great place for walkers to park their cars and take a walk either down by the canal or out Cockleshell way to take in the sights of Tralee Bay.

This work is all part of a recent drive by the Kerry County Council to tidy up the entrance to the canal.

The Lock Gates and Blennerville Windmill have also undergone work recently.
