A LOCAL charity will benefit from a competition to give Bruce Springsteen fans a chance to see the man himself play Croke Park on Friday May 27.
And they’ll be no need to go ‘hiding on the backstreets’ either with accommodation in a city centre hotel thrown in as well for the winner.
Huge Boss fan, Breda Barry of Barry Packaging, decided to donate two tickets and a hotel stay for the Friday night for the winner of the competition, while a family from Tralee has donated a further two tickets – also for the Friday night gig – as a second prize.

To be in with a chance of winning, just donate €5 to the competition’s fundraiser page HERE. Each €5 gets you one entry in the draw, so if you donate €20 for instance you get four entries.
You can also buy lines for the competition from Horan’s Fruit and Veg and Health Food Store if you don’t wan’t to do it online. So far Breda and Co. have raised almost €1,000 for the Hospice from donations for the competition.
The draw will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 17 and the winner will be announced on Kerry Hospice and Barry Packaging Facebook pages.
This year, Bruce has been celebrating the 35th anniversary of the release of ‘The River’ album by performing the album in its entirety but you can be sure there’ll be a whole lot more familiar songs in his famously long sets.
The hospice provides funding for the care of terminally ill people in Kerry. Currently they are fundraising for the 15-bed inpatient unit in University Hospital Kerry.
