THE local community has shown its appreciation of the Na Gaeil senior team’s amazing success this year by responding to a fundraiser to help with expenses as they bid to reach another All-Ireland final.
After winning the Munster Club Intermediate Championship last Sunday, a gofundme page was set up earlier this week with a target of €5,000.
As of 10.15am this morning, €4,690 has been raised and this will help with the costs as they prepare for an All-Ireland semi-final against Steelstown Brian Ógs of Derry at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Mayo on Saturday week.

Chairman of the Na Gaeil club and organiser of the fundraiser, Tim Lynch, thanked everyone who has contributed so far.
“Thanks to everyone who has supported our fundraiser which has become all the more necessary because our trip to Mayo will now involve an overnight stay for our senior team,” he wrote on the gofundme page.
“We have had incredible support over the last number of weeks and indeed throughout our existence and it is appreciated by all involved in our wonderful club.”
