Holocaust Survivor And Stepsister Of Anne Frank To Give Talk in Tralee

A HOLOCAUST survivor is set to give a talk on Tuesday, March 8, at Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa, Tralee.  The event will run from 6pm-9.30pm.

Eva Schloss, who is an acclaimed author and the stepsister of Anne Frank, will give the talk as part of the International Women’s Day Kerry event put on by the Kerry Businesswomen’s Network and the Bon Secours Hospital Tralee.

At the age of 15, Eva was captured with her family by the Nazis and placed into Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp for nine months until she was freed.

According to her website, Eva spoke about being freed: “The whole point of the process was the de-humanization of us. When we were liberated by the Russians and they shared their bread and water with us, I cried. That was a kind, human action.”

She has published two books and given countless talks about her experiences and what is what like to live in the shadow of Anne Frank.

On the night, there will also be a drinks reception and a three course meal on the night.  The dinner address will be given by Ms. Deirdre Fanning: Consultant Urologist MBBChBAO (Hons) MMEDSc (Med Ed) MD FRCS (Urology) and Mr. John Curran: Consultant Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon MB MCh FRCSI (Plast).
