THE IDA met with the Council recently in relation to branding Kerry for potential investors, it was revealed at the meeting of Tralee Municipal District on Monday.

Cllr Jim Finucane asked that the Council call a meeting with Abbeydorney man, Martin Shanahan, the IDA CEO about job creation in Kerry, especially after the tender was awarded to build the advanced manufacturing facility at Kerry Technology Park.

He wanted a joint marketing strategy in relation to the building and for the council to be informed on how it is to be marketed.

Director of Services, Michael Scannell, said the Council had a meeting recently with Ray O’Connor of the IDA about branding in Kerry and the IDA are developing an ‘Invest In Kerry’ website in relation to this.

He said they are filming in Kerry on Tuesday for the website and it will be up and running before the end of the year. Mr Scannell also said the Council had commissioned their own branding exercise and they are getting the first report back this week.
