Golf Classic – Our annual golf classic takes place in Beaufort Golf Club on Friday August 23rd. Always a great day out, a team of 4 is €300 and a tee box can be sponsored for €75. Please contact any of the organizing committee of Pat Kearney, Fergus Foley, Anthony McElligott, Eoin Gallagher, Rory Kilgallen and Brid McElligott if you wish to sponsor a team or help with the event. All monies raised go to support our football activities.

Senior Men – Training continues on Tuesday at 7pm.

Senior Ladies – Training continues on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.

Mothers & Others Notes – Great work to everyone who joined our Mothers & Others training on Wednesday! Our coach Brendan kept us sharp with drills, and teammate Claire even surprised us with a new one! We finished the night strong with a fun challenge match amongst ourselves. We’re looking forward to our second game of the season against Abbeydorney on Wednesday night.

Thinking of joining? You’re welcome! We’d love to have new players. We’re all about getting some exercise and having a laugh.  It’s a great way to get your cardio in while making new friends. Contact Aisling 087 2428358 for more information

Minor Team –The first round of the Keanes Supervalu Club Championship takes place on Monday July 8th at 7.30pm where we play Laune Rangers away. Wishing the players and management the best in the competition.

Also congratulations to Gearoid White and David Sargent for the role they played with the Kerry Minors and in representing our club with such distinction. Hard luck to the management and team on their recent defeat. Training details for the week will be issued by Whatsapp.

Academy – Well done to all the boys and girls who had a great training session on Sunday in the glorious midsummer Sunshine. We had fantastic numbers again this week and it was a session filled with great fun and great energy. New players are always welcome and training returns next Sunday morning.

Under 9 Boys – John Mitchels U9 Boys play Castlegregory at home next Sunday July 7th. Parents will be notified via text during the week regarding schedule. Until then everyone enjoy the Cùl Camp and don’t forget to keep on practicing!!

Under 8s and 10s Girls – Well done to the girls who took part in a North Kerry blitz which was hosted by Mitchels in Ballyseedy on Saturday. With 12 teams taking place it was a great event and well done to the organisers. Our U1o girls play Ballymacelligott at home on Wednesday at 6.15pm so please come along and support the girls.

Under 14 Girls – Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday as we now focus on the North Kerry League which will start later this month.

Under 12 Girls – Great team effort vis Listowel Emmets last Wednesday where both teams played really well. Thanks to Listowel Emmets for a really sporting game.

 Under 11 Boys –  Our under 11’s completed phase 2 of their County League games last Thursday away in blustery Milltown/Castlemaine. One team faired well and the other team not as well. Thankfully as coaches we understand the purpose of these games is Development with a capital “D” and we shall continue this throughout the season with this great bunch of characters who we have great belief in.

Thanks to all the players for their hard work and commitment. We took a rest from training on Sunday due to the Kerry game. We will resume next Sunday 7th July.  Until then keep practising as much as possible.

Under 13 Boys – Our team played Ardfert last week. Well done to Ardfert who won by a small margin on the night. We await the Central League fixtures. No training this week as many of the players are doing the Cul Camps. See you all next week and if the coaches get fixture details in the interim they will be whatsapp to the parents groups.

Under 15 Boys who won Round 1 of the Central League via Miltown/Castlemaine in the Central League Competition

 Under 15 Boys – Well done to the team on their win v Milltown/Castlemaine this week in the Kellihers Toyota Central League U15 Boys Div1 Round 1 where the score was John Mitchels 1-7 Milltown Castlemaine 1-1. Training continues on Tuesday at 6pm to 7pm.

Under 16 Girls and Minors – Training details will be issued by your coaches.

Bingo – Continues Wednesday and Friday at 8.30PM at the John Joe Sheehy Road. Over 18s only. ID must be provided on request.

Lotto – J­ohn Mitchels GAA Club Lotto Results: Sunday 30th June 2024. This week’s Lotto numbers are 2, 4, 7 & 10. The numbers today were drawn by George Lowe and Rory Kilgallen. There was no winner of the Jackpot of €3,650.00. Congratulations to our three lucky dip winners this week:

Sympathies – Our sympathies to those who experienced a recent bereavement. We extend our sympathies on behalf of the club to the Fitzgibbon and O’Connor families on the untimely passing of David Fitzgibbon.

David is the partner of Tanya, a member of our Senior Ladies team and Tanya is a also former Officer of the club. David is also the son of Hugh Fitzgibbon who has given many years of dedicated service to the club across many areas.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this difficult time. We also remember at this time the families of Chris Lawlor, Anna Buckley and Stephy Ouseph. May their gentle souls rest in peace.
