We played Tarbert away last Saturday in the second round of the County League in windswept conditions. We played against the breeze in the first half and started brightly with points from Wayne Conway and Sean Moloney.
Tarbert added three points in a row to lead after 15 minutes. We reacted well and added further points from Alan O’Donoghue (2) and Sean Moloney(2) to lead at half time by 6 points to 5.
We started excellently in the second half and our Man of the Match – Alan O’Donoghue added four excellent scores to put us in a controlling position with 15 minutes to go.
We added scores from Michael Deane (1) Sean Moloney(1) and Alan O’Donoghue (2) and even though Tarbert added late points we ended up deserving winners by 14 points to 8.

The ladies played Causeway on Saturday evening last in their second County League match.
Mitchels were short of a number of players through injury and work commitments and Causeway took full advantage of this fact from the throw in. Playing with the aid of a strong wind, Causeway piled on the scores and at the half time whistle they held a comfortable lead. Mitchels tried hard in the second half but Causeway out scored Mitchels again in this half.
There are two games left in the County League series, home to Spa and home to Abbeydorney. The team needs to win both of these to progress further in this competition.

U12 Girls
The girls had a busy week playing three North Kerry league games against Duagh on Sunday the 22nd which they won, Moyvane on Monday the 23rd which they drew and against Kerins O Rahillys on Sunday the 29th which they also won. This sets them up nicely in the table and qualifies them for the Shield Final but we wont know the opponents until the other teams have finished their games. Their hard work and committment at training over the past few weeks is showing, the girls are having plenty fun, making new friends and one can see each one of them improving with every match. The preliminary section of the County League starts on the weekend of April 4th and a full list of games is listed below. These games are subject to change and once they are completed all of the teams in the County will be graded and we’ll commence the County League proper so there is loads of football on the way.
The girls that played last week are as follows; Tara Field, Mairead McCarthy, Lynda O Connor, Elizabeth O Connor, Taylor Rodgers,Eimear Murphy, Erica O Connor, Katie Ross, Caoimhe Leahy, Kerry Oba, Amee Kerins,Lauren Smullen, Angel Quilligan, Molly & Emily Brosnan, Emily & Ciara Poultney, Dawn McLarnan, Paula Clifford & Emma O Donnell.
The club, mentors and players would like to wish Emily O Shea a speedy recovery from her recent injury and hope to see her back soon.
As the evenings are now longer and brighter, we may look to change training times – if this happens everyone will be informed during the week.
