IT’S pretty much a Christmas tradition at this stage.
This year’s Tralee Santa 5k Fun Run will take place on Sunday, December 16 at 11am from the Tralee Bay Wetlands and once again, runners, joggers, walkers, cyclists and pets alike are welcome to take part.
It’s very much a community event as hundreds of people dress in red for the occasion. The fun details of the route, charity/organisation to benefit and how to register will soon be announced, but just mark the date in your diary for now.
Each year the event is held in memory of Fiona Moore, who died at the age of 16 in May 2013 from Pulmonary Hypertension, while waiting on a lung transplant.
The previous beneficiaries were the Cashel Ward in UHK, Make-a –Wish, Heart Children Ireland, Barretstown and Ronald McDonald House. To date, well over €40,000 has been collected for these charities.
