KERRY College of Further Education Tralee had a great win in the Higher Education Championship (Corn na Mac Leinn) on Wednesday in John Mitchel’s sports grounds against Institute of Technology Tallaght.

This is the first year KCFE have competed at this level and they are now through to a quarter-final against University Ulster Magee.

KCFE led by a point at half time having played with a strong wind.  First half goals by Joe Looby and the ever dangerous Mikie Casey kept them in the game after a strong start from Tallaght.

James Duggan ran the game from centre forward and Wayne Duggan from John Mitchels converted an excellent penalty after Mikie Casey was pulled down.

Best for KCFE were James and Wayne Duggan and Cian Holden (John Mitchels), Brandon Patterson and Joe Looby (Austin Stacks), Colin Sheehy (Finuge), Jordan Brick (Ardfert), Chris Keane (Kilcummin) and Mikie Casey (Dr. Crokes).
