Seniors:

The seniors are currently taking a break following the preservation of their division 1 status last week.

Training will resume this week in preparation for the intermediate club championship, our first time to partake in this competition.

We are joined in Group 3 by Kilcummin, Laune Rangers and Listowel Emmets; the top two teams will advance to the quarter finals which are then played on a knock out basis.

We have been handed a tough assignment with the composition of this group – Kilcummin and Laune Rangers have both beaten us in county league division 1 this year whilst Listowel are on an upward curve having won last year’s premier junior title and falling only at the final hurdle in Croke Park in their quest for ultimate glory.

However, our division 1 conquerors will face a different proposition in the coming games as we will have a stronger outfit than in the league with the availability of our U20 trio, Ben , Tomas and Darragh and the returning Tommy & David; against that Conor Hayes will be a big loss as he is spending his summer in the US.

U21 County Final:

The county U21 football final will take place this coming Weds night, 3rd July when St Brendans take on Austin Stacks in Austin Stack Park where throw-in is timed for 19.30.

We would expect to have Jake Foley, Ben Hanafin, Tomás Kennedy & Darragh O’Connor on the starting XV.

St Brendans advanced to the final on the back of a walkover from Laune Rangers so their preparation was not ideal; Stacks had a one point win over South Kerry having led at one stage by 9 points, 2-9 to 0-06.

It promises to be a cracker of a game given the local rivalry and the familiarity which these players possess with each other with many having played together at secondary school level for Tralee CBS & Mounthawk respectively.

We would like to wish the lads the very best  of luck on Weds night – beir bua agus beannacht.

Kerry:

Congrats to Kerry and our own Micheál Quirke as they advanced to an All Ireland semi final following victory over Derry on Sunday. Kerry will now play Armagh on weekend of 13/14th July in Croke Park.

Lotto:

The lotto jackpot has now reached €12,900 and is one of the largest jackpots we have had in recent years. It was last won in June of 2022 and whilst there have been many match 3s in the intervening time, the four magic numbers have proved elusive.

The draw for this week will take place on Monday night 1st July and you can play online up until 4 pm at the following link –  https://clubs.clubforce.com/clubs/gaa-kerins-o-rahillys-gaa-club-kerry/

Paper tickets are available until 8 pm – the support for the weekly draw has been massive in recent weeks and we thank all those who continue to play.

U10 Girls at North Kerry Blitz

Academy:

U10 Girls:

Well done to our U10s Saturday morning in the North Kerry Blitz. The weather didn’t dampen their enthusiasm and drive and they played extremely well against all 4 teams in their group showing great skills and team work throughout the field.

Thank you to North Kerry Ladies for organising a great blitz.

U11 Boys

U11 Boys:

A very busy week for our U11 stars this week. On Tuesday we visited Spa Killarney and Thursday evening we made the journey to Listry. The boys played some great football on both nights and are developing into a fantastic team. Thanks to both Spa and Listry for hosting us.

Juvenile academy takes place every Sunday Morning in Pat Healy Park, Ballyrickard from 10am to 11am, new members are always welcome to join our fantastic club and community.

Summer camp –

Our summer camp is taking place from the 6th to 9th August. Keep an eye on our social media pages for  details on how to book.  Don’t miss out, it’s always a fun week while learning key skills.

Ladies Notes:

U12 Girls:

The KOR U12 girls were immense again in their match against Duagh. With our goalie missing, the girls had to step to the challenge of replacing her. Hats off to Rhona, Mia and Isabella who took one for the team.

Our defence was very solid with Duagh not getting an inch of room to play the game they wanted. Midfield, as always, worked their socks off and were very effective. Our forwards tried hard and  eventually the scores came.

Overall it was a good solid performance especially when some people played out of position. Thanks to Duagh for traveling to Ballyrickard last Wednesday.

U16 Girls:

Two more good training sessions this week, even with girls on holidays, those who were around attended both Tuesday and Thursday sessions.  We were represented in the u16 county team by Aoibheann and Saoirse Mc Carty on Thursday night in Rathkeale but unfortunately it  wasn’t their night but we are still proud of their achievements.

All eyes now on the county league starting next week.

KOR mothers and others

KOR Mothers and Others :

Our KOR Mothers and Others made the short journey to Blennerville to play St. Pats  M&Os. A great evening of football and laughter was had by all. Thanks to St. Pats for hosting us.

Condolences:

We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Anna Buckley, née Hayes, grandmother of our senior player Donagh, who passed away last week.

The death of Micheál O’Muirceartaigh has cast a dark shadow over the county and the country in general; his was the distinctive voice for decades for many people as they listened to his commentary of Gaelic games in  both football and hurling. He brought many a game to life painting stories of gallantry and heroic deeds and indeed there was never a dull game when he commentated.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam álainn, uasal, Gaelach.
