We made our exit from the competition on Saturday evening when losing out, after extra time to Gneeveguilla on a scoreline of 0-19 to 1-14.

Juvenile Academy:

Our academy was a little quieter this Sunday than usual as our U8 girls were on the road as well as our U9 boys this weekend.  All age groups had a great morning learning key skills while having great fun.  Next Sunday is our last training session in Ballyrickard.  We will have our final academy morning on Sunday 6th October in Strand Rd Main pitch. More details to follow, so keep an eye on your clubzap.

U8 Girls

U8 Girls:

Na Gaeil hosted our U8 girls Sunday morning. It was great to see all our skills and determination on display on the pitch. Some amazing goals and points scored and plenty of running and defending by all the girls. Well done to everyone and thanks to Na Gaeil for hosting us.

U11 Boys enjoying Splatball

U11 Boys:

After a brilliant season of football, our U11s headed for paintball Kerry for Splatball and pizza. The boys had great fun playing capture the flag and thoroughly enjoyed shooting the coaches in all four games. Next Sunday will be our last day out when we head to Castleisland to partake in their invitational blitz.

U14 Girls:

The curtain came down on the 2024 season for our Strand Road U14 team with a defeat to St. Pats in the Division 7 Shield Final on Thursday night. There was little between the two sides in the first half, with Lily Hussey creating problems for the home team’s back line and Ava O’Donoghue posing a constant threat in front of goals.

But the Blennerville girls pulled away from us early in the second half, with an early goal and some lovely scores from their forwards.

Credit to our girls for never hanging their heads and fighting until the final whistle.

It was the last game of the season for our B team but there’s still some fixtures remaining for our A team, so we’ll keep training.

Well done to all our players on a great effort. The important thing is that they learn from this and move on, and better days will come. And congrats to St Pat’s on a very deserved victory.

Final score:

3-9 to 2-5

Mothers & Others at Fr. Casey’s blitz

Mothers and others:

Our Mother & Others team were presented with their new jerseys Wednesday evening in Ballrickard by Barry Duggan from The Blasket. We really appreciate their sponsorship. Thanks to Nelligan Sports for designing the jerseys and tops. The presentation was followed by a game V Churchill M&O. It was an enjoyable competitive game in the lovely weather! The ladies went on to play Saturday in their last blitz of the season in Abbeyfeale. It was a very enjoyable day and a great laugh from start to finish.  Thanks to Fr. Casey’s Abbeyfeale for putting on such a fantastic fun filled blitz.

Thanks to each and every coach for submitting their weekly notes.
