Kerry Hurlers Are Back In Action This Sunday

WHILE the footballers are taking on Tipperary in Tralee next Sunday, the Kerry hurlers will also see their first action of the new year at the same time.

They face Cork in the 2017 Co-Op Superstores Munster senior hurling league in Mallow with a 2pm throw in.

This will be Kerry’s first competitive encounter under new manager Fintan O’Connor. Kerry had a challenge against CIT on Monday last which they won on a score of 4-14 to 1-20.

Kerry will have a home game against Clare on Sunday week, 15th January at Austin Stack Park, 2pm. On Sunday, January 22 they play Limerick at the Gaelic Grounds, 2pm and on Wednesday, January 25  versus Waterford at Austin Stack Park, 7.30p.m.

Tipperary is the only Munster county not to play this pre-season competition.

The new Kerry senior Hurling manager, Fintan O’Connor has been busy over the Christmas break putting a new senior hurling management team in place.

Former Tipperary goalkeeping great, Brendan Cummins, is the new Hurling Coach while Damian Ryall continues in charge of Physical Training/Strength & Conditioning.

Two new selectors are due to be named later this week while county champions, Kilmoyley, are also expected to name the new Kerry senior hurling captain in the near future.
