THERE was a bit more of a pep in the step of Kerins O’Rahilly’s people during the week knowing that on All-Ireland final day the club will have three players involved with Kerry; David Moran and Barry John Keane for the seniors and Cormac Coffey for the minors.
The excitement was nowhere keenly felt than at O’Rahilly’s juvenile training on Saturday ahead of the big match the following day where the young ‘Naries’ (‘Naríns’ if you will) were out in force to show their support.
“It means an awful lot for everyone in the club to have the lads playing. We’ve had big numbers at juvenile training with green and gold jerseys on,” said Kerins O’Rahilly’s PRO, Breda Dyland.

“There’s a huge buzz around the place, obviously everyone during the week was looking for tickets. It was huge task for the club to provide tickets for our members, we hope we’ve kept everybody happy,” said Breda.
“The three guys are gentlemen, no matter what, you call them they will show up. They are always able to do anything you asked them for and they would be down at a drop of a hat. They are a fantastic asset to the cub and we wish them the all the best,” said Breda.
The occasion has even prompted Kerins O’Rahilly’s U12 player Aoife Doody, to write a poem entitled, Blue Heroes, about three of Strand Road’s favourite sons.
‘Blue Heroes’
So here we go we’re off again,
on the 21st of September.
It’s three years now since last we were there,
So long I can barely remember!
With David,Barry John,Cormac and co,
I think we all know which way it will go.
These Strand Road boys are all we need for our Kingdom heroes to succeed!
Your Club is with you and so is your County,
Oh please bring home this wonderful Bounty.
Lets all stand up and shout and cheer,
Sam’s return with Tom Markham is near!!!
