Waterford 0-1

Patrice Diggin accounted for 0-11 of the Kerry tally

Kerry travelled to Walsh Park in Waterford on Saturday to face the Déise in the All-Ireland Premier Junior Camogie Championship.

The Kingdom had already defeated Waterford in the Munster Championship so travelled to Walsh Park hoping to repeat the feat.

On a perfect day for camogie, Kerry hit the ground running and were 0-4 to 0-0 ahead at the 13 minute mark.

They maintained their dominance and probably should have held a greater halftime lead than 0-6 to 0-1. Kerry continued in the same vein in the second half and Waterford had no answer to Kerry’s excellent running game.

Kerry’s defence refused to yield scores and the Kingdom’s midfield and forward lines continued to attack the Waterford goals.

Their chief tormentor was Patrice Diggin who finished the day with 0-11 with 0-8 coming from frees.

Kerry continued to keep Waterford scoreless in the second half and had extended their tally to 0-11 by the 40 minute mark.

They raised their 13th white flag in the 52nd minute and Jackie Horgan put the icing on the cake when she raised a green flag approaching the end.

Kerry continued their run of wins against Waterford with a comfortable victory on a scoreline of Kerry 1-16 Waterford 0-1.
