THE company which will be creating 30 jobs in Killarney, moved from its Tralee offices because they said the new location offered the required infrastructure and ability to attract and retain talent.
Tralee Chamber Alliance CEO, Kieran Ruttledge, expressed his disappointment at the decision by VT iDirect and said Tralee offers the best resources in Kerry for all businesses.
Yesterday, VT iDirect made the announcement of the jobs which will be created over the next five years in their new location in the Reeks Gateway facility. The US company took over Altobridge in 2014 and moved from Kerry Technology Park to offices at Liber House in Monavalley. They made the move to Killarney few weeks ago.
Replying to TraleeToday.ie’s query about why they moved from Tralee, the US based company issued a statement yesterday evening.

“The office space we had occupied in Tralee was always intended to be an interim solution, identified as such, since it enabled sustained operations as we undertook identifying a space that was most appropriate in supporting our long term location strategy.”
“After evaluating various options across the County Kerry area, The Reeks in Killarney was selected based on several factors, including location, infrastructure, and ability to attract and retain talent. All of the positions that had been working from the Tralee space have been successfully transitioned to the Killarney office, and in the past months we’ve added both additional full-time employees and seasonal interns.”
Kieran Ruttledge wished the company well, but said he was disappointed with the decision.
“Whilst Tralee Chamber Alliance welcome the planned jobs expansion of VT iDirect and their decision to relocate in Kerry we are disappointed that they have chosen to relocate outside of Tralee. We believe that Tralee offers the best resources in Kerry for all businesses and Tralee Chamber Alliance are trying to promote Tralee as a premier business location for Ireland. We wish the company every success in their ventures and hope that they will retain their links with Tralee and draw from the talent pool that the town offers,” he said.
