Man Assaulted In Killeen Woods Has Died

The man who was assaulted in Killeen Woods on Wednesday night has died in Kerry General Hospital.

GARDAÍ in Tralee investigating the serious assault of a male at Killeen Woods on Wednesday  September 30 have confirmed that the injured male died last night in hospital.

A post mortem will be carried out later today  at the morgue at Kerry General Hospital.

The second male who was arrested and detained in connection with the assault, was released yesterday without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

Investigations are ongoing and investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.

They are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Killeen Woods at the time of the incident, to contact them. Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.

The man in his twenties – who is from the Killarney area and moved to Ireland some years ago with his family – was discovered by the emergency services in the front garden of a house in Killeen Woods at 10.30pm on Wednesday night.

Two men, who are foreign nationals, were arrested shortly after nearby. They were arrested and questioned by Gardaí. One of the men was released without charge on Thursday and the other was released yesterday.
