THERE’S exciting developments on the way up at Tralee Omniplex, as work is well underway to install the new MAXX screen.

While it’s business as usual at the Omniplex, work started in the past couple of weeks on one of the screens there and the installation is scheduled to be finished around mid-February.

OmniplexMAXX is Omniplex’s Premium Large Format or PLF which promises to immerse the viewer into the movie.

OmniplexMAXX uses three key senses to achieve this, sight, sound and feel, using a mix of technology and design to create an unique immersive experience.

A minimum OmniplexMAXX screen measures 15 meters in ‘Flat’ ratio or over 20 meters in ‘Scope’ ratio. They curve the screen by 5% for optimum ’light gain’ and to achieve a more even spread of light.

So going to the movies is set to be some experience up at the Omniplex very soon!
