IT was an event which drew around 370 people to the Rose Hotel just two weeks ago and yesterday evening the proceeds from the Tralee 10 Miler and 5k Road Race were presented to Kerry Hospice.

Organised by Michelle Greaney of Optimal Fitness, she said she was delighted with the turnout which was well up on last year’s event and the amount of €1,700 raised for the charity.

“The numbers were up and the weather was favourable too to make for a great event. I’m so happy to raise the funds for the Palliative Care Unit and I’d also like to thank the sponsors and all who helped on the day,” said Michelle.

Maura Sullivan of Kerry Hospice thanked Michelle for her generosity.

“Obviously Michelle knows what she is doing in the running community by drawing such a crowd for the run from all over the county. We really appreciate the money raised,” said Michelle.
