All-Ireland Senior Football Championship: Semi-Final – Cillian Burke Represents Milltown/Castlemaine GAA

Whilst it may not have been the The Kingdom’s day on Saturday evening against Armagh in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Semi-Final at Croke Park where they went down on a final score of 1-18 to 1-16 after extra time, it goes without saying that all involved in Milltown/Castlemaine GAA are immensely proud of the ever impressive and inspirational Cillian Burke who put in a superb shift and kept the Kerry side going right until the final whistle.

Cillian came on off the bench in the second half of normal time to take up the wing-forward role but ended up in the middle of the park for the second half of extra time and led the Kerry charge.

A wonderful debut season from Cillian in the Green and Gold and a role model for all the youngsters within the club who aspire to one day play at the highest level with Kerry. Well done.

Kerry South U14s and U16s: Club Representation

Congratulations to our Milltown/Castlemaine club representatives who played at the weekend for Kerry South and had a very successful outing.
Evan McKenna and Cillian Casey lined out for the Kerry South U14s on Saturday as they secured impressive victories over Clare and Tipperary.
Meanwhile at Kerry South U16 level, Charlie Griffin was part of the side that picked up a win against Roscommon. Cathal Moriarty was part of the management team.
Always wonderful to see club members lining out in the Green and Gold and it is testament to the outstanding hard work and dedication by the players themselves but also to the coaches at our club who have mentored the lads over the years.

U14 Girls: Crowned County Champions

County Champions 2024 ..
An absolute massive shift put in by these girls recently (Monday, July 1st) in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney. A game of two halves, with Glenflesk leading well at the break, our girls rallied and played some impressive football in the second half.

A ding dong battle to the final whistle, with our girls winning by the narrowest of margins.
It proved to be a historical evening for our club, the first trophy to grace the sod of Paddy Burke Memorial field won by an LGFA team. This couldn’t be done without the Trojan effort by this group of girls, the management team, the families, the supporters .. we couldn’t be prouder!! 🇳🇬🇳🇬
Thank you to Glenflesk for a sporting game, to the referee, and the Kerry Ladies Gaelic Football county board, and to our sponsor Clendennen Electrical Services.

Hard luck to the Milltown/Castlemaine Minors who lost out to Ardfert on Monday night in the Keane’s of Killorglin County Minor Club Football Championship Semi-Final on a final score of 2-11 to 1-11.
The boys who went down battling with everything they had in Ardfert trailed 1-6 to 0-3 at half time. They outscored Ardfert in the second half but just came up short in a game hosted by the winners in Ardfert.
The players and management team can be very proud of their efforts on the evening and are a credit to the club and their families. Beidh lá eile againn gan dabht!
