MERCY Mounthawk had a very successful trip to the All Ireland School’s Athletics in Tullamore last weekend.
The senior girls were awarded Best Senior Girls Team, with some of the team also winning individual medals. Aoibhín O’Brien won gold at the senior girls Long Jump, while Lauren O’Grady won bronze in the senior girls discus.

Mervyn Shalemba did the boys proud, winning gold in both the 200m and 100m Junior Boys. Mounthawk’s Junior Boys team came second in Ireland.
On their way to the competition, the girls broke a 28 year old relay record for Munster with a time of 49.24.
