NLN Centre Receives €3,000 After Fashion Fundraiser

THE National Learning Network in Tralee received a cheque for €3,000 on Friday last thanks to a fashion show back in October.

Fiona Hyde, whose son Dylan is a trainee there, helped organise the annual fundraiser in Sol y Sombra and some of the proceeds now go the facility in Clash.

“I want to thank the organisers of the Killorglin Fashion Show on behalf of all at the National Learning Network here and in particular, Fiona Hyde,” said Fiona Keogh, Area Manager NLN. ”

“Dylan is a participant on his first year of the School Leavers programme.It’s a programme funded by the HSE and we have a number of young learners who come from mainstream and special education needs schools to our three year programme for health and social gain.”

NLN in Kerry provides a range of free courses to people who have had an accident, illness, injury or have a disability and extra support needs.

The courses are tailored to each student’s needs, to help them to build their confidence while getting practical job-seeking skills to help them get a job or go on to further training.
