A SECTION of road at the roundabout in Ballymullen had to be closed temporarily this morning after a car was engulfed in flames.

It happened at just before 9.40am just after the roundabout, adjacent to the small park with the Christ the King statue. No one was injured in the blaze and a female occupant got away from the car in time.

Gardai and the fire services were soon on the scene and extinguished the fire. The road has now been cleared. It is not yet known what caused the fire.
