THE glory days of Nottingham Forest may be in the past, but their fans in Kerry and Munster did the club proud with a recent fundraiser.
The Munster Forest supporters club ran a dinner dance to mark its 10 year anniversary and the 150th anniversary of the English soccer club.
The event was held in The Manor Inn Killorglin on Saturday, June 18 and raised over €3,000 for two organisations, the KSPCA and Recovery Haven.

“We had Colin Barrett who played in the European Cup winning team in 1979-80 and his wife and Brendan Moloney from Beaufort who played with Forest,” said Mike Hurley from Munster Forest.
There was also 25 people from Nottingham who came over for the event. Mike and Gearoid Lynch have been going to matches over there for the past 25 years and have built up strong friendships over the years.
They were delighted to raise funds for the two groups.
The cheques – €1,538 each – were handed over to the two groups at the Recovery Haven in Killerisk on Sunday morning.
Many thanks to Nottingham Forest Club for thinking of Recovery. Haven Kerry Cancer Support House, shows how the people of Kerry support each other!!!
