THE Open Arms Kerry project, which aims to provide help for people with mental health issues, is looking for volunteers to man their new office when it opens in September.
“It is one of our aims to set up a movement of people who will play a part in helping to improve each other’s lives, and we all have the capabilities to do this,” said Chairperson of the group, Gerard Ger Collins, in an open letter to the pubic.
“More people are presenting with mental illnesses and it will be the leading cause of illness by the year 2030, according to the World Health Organisation.
“The Open Arms Kerry are looking for volunteers , irrespective of your experience. We all have a part to play. We are opening our new office space on September 10th 2017 at No. 6 Castle Street Tralee. We will need people to man the office for a couple of hours a week, answering the phone etc..
In what way do you feel that you can help us? What are your qualifications, if any? Remember no qualifications are needed, but they can be an asset in some ways,” concludes the letter.
