THE Brandon Hotel came alive yesterday with some well known faces joining the hundreds of students from schools around Munster at the annual Donal Walsh LiveLife Foundation Film Competition Awards.
Maurice Galwey, Aidan O’Mahony and RTE’s Teresa Mannion were among the judges attending for the competition awards, which drew a large number of entrants as usual this year.
Rock band The Riptide Movement also made an appearance playing their hits to the crowd, while young singer Curtis Walsh also performed.

Sinead Kennedy of Winning Streak fame was MC for the event and she introduced shortlists of three entries from each of the categories; Primary School, Secondary School and Adult.
This year the theme was ‘Take My Hand’ and it threw up some serious filmmaking talent.
Elma Walsh thanked all the entrants, sponsors Bon Secours Hospital, Chapter 23 Credit Union, Brandon Hotel, the judges, performers and everyone involved in organising the event, especially Mary Lucey.
