THE end of schooldays is nigh and things tend to get a bit emotional for sixth year students.
This was certainly true on Friday as the 83 Presentation Secondary girls in the ‘Class of 2019’ enjoyed their graduation day.
“It’s a wonderful day, it’s very emotional whether you’re a teacher, a parent or a pupil,” said Principal of Presentation Secondary School Tralee, Mary Kennelly.
“It’s the end of a big journey in their lives and we’re very proud of them. They’re ready to kick on now to go out into the world to become a new generation of leaders,” added Ms Kennelly.

The proceedings started with Mass in St John’s, with the families of the girls attending, followed by a few words from the Principal and Deputy Principal Chrissie Kelly.
The two Head Girls, Ciara Boyd and Michelle Doody, gave a stirring address to their fellow students and afterwards everyone headed back to the school for refreshments.
“We also presented the girls with their certificates and each of them received a keepsake. They also opened up their ‘time capsules’ which are the letters they wrote to their future selves while back in first year,” said Principal Kennelly.
This proved an especially emotional part of the day with a number of the students moved to tears, but they were comforted by friends made for life at a school which will forever hold fond memories for them. Scroll down for photos…
