WITH a great line-up of writers, actors and music artists, the Anam festival in Tralee kicked off last night with packed venues and enthusiastic audiences.

Taking place over the weekend, it sees a host of events in venues around the town with a focus on drama, literature, poetry and music.

Crosty’s Bar was packed to capacity last night to hear acclaimed local author Noel O’Regan and award-winning poet Victoria Kennefick in conversation with Edel Brosnan.

Over in Dom O’Donnell’s Car Park it was a sold-out affair to watch the Hy-Breasal Players present ‘Clutch’, a unique production of six short plays which will be performed over the weekend and all performances are sold out.

There was a great turnout too for talented Kerry female music artists, Lorraine Nash and Kate Dineen who performed in The Rock Inn, while over in Madden’s, Clodagh Finn was in conversation with author Kit de Waal.

The festival continues today and tomorrow so for a full list of events and how to buy tickets, click here. Scroll down for photos…
