THERE was a good turnout for a table quiz with a difference on Wednesday night with proceeds raised going to Pieta House.
Former Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí student, Damien Kissane from Lixnaw, decided to put on a quiz as gaeilge for the charity at The Ashe Hotel.
“It’s for the love of the language really,” said Damien, who works as a special needs assistant in Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn. “I wanted to promote the Irish language and raise much needed funds for Pieta House because of the great work they do. As you can see tonight, the Irish language is certainly alive and well.”
Damien also started Irish classes for adults which is now coming to an end, but will begin again in January. Teacher in Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn, Declan Quill, was the quizmaster and there were loads of spot prizes on the night. Scroll down for photos…
