IT’S been a good weekend for Austin Stacks GAA Club.
With East Kerry winning the county championship, it means the Rockies will enter the Munster Club Championship at the semi-final stage where they will play Nemo Rangers next Sunday in Páirc Ui Rinn at 1.30pm.
At half-time during Sunday’s county final, the Austin Stacks team of 1994 were honoured, but the club held its own celebration of that championship winning team and the minor champions of 1969 at the clubhouse in Connolly Park.
Organised by Eddie Barrett and Jim Naughton, they contacted and invited members of both teams and there was a good turnout on the night.

Club Chairperson welcomed all present and said while 1994 and 1969 were good years for the club, it shouldn’t be forgotten that winning the club championship title this year was also a fine achievement.
