IT was a misty and murky Saturday morning at O’Donnell’s in Mounthawk, as participants made their way off on the annual cycle in aid of Fenit RNLI.
There were 62 cyclists taking part this year in the 15th annual fun cycle and they set off on the 50 kilometre cycle taking them out of town through Farranfore and on to Castleisland before looping back to O’Donnell’s Bar where there were refreshments waiting for them.
It was a massive success as always with €7,500 raised on the day.
“It was a very successful event for Fenit RLNI. I wish to thank the cyclist, organisers and all who helped us fundraise this great amount,” said Mike O’Connor Fundraiser at Fenit RNLI.
Fenit RNLI PRO, Jackie Murphy, said: “On behalf of Fenit RNLI, I’d like to thank everyone for coming out, the cyclists, the organisers and helpers on the day. We’re very pleased with the turnout and we can assure people that the funds will be used wisely for protection of lives at sea.”
