A LARGE amount of refuse waste has been found dumped in an area of Tralee and has caused outrage amongst local volunteers who are part of the extensive clean up efforts taking place here in the town.
The waste was found near the back of the Mart in Mounthawk.
Team Bramble is the local volunteer group that are working with Tidy Towns, Clean Coasts and the Tralee Chamber Alliance and have been out and about over recent weeks and months helping to make the town clean, so it is understandable that they are angered by the recent findings.
“It defies logic. It really does,” read a post on their Facebook page this week. “This heap of rubbish was off loaded close to the NCT Centre in Tralee over the past few days. Disgusting. Let us remind those that don’t give a damn, that there are some of us – Towards a better Tralee, The Council, Tidy Towns, The Inspired Group, Residents Associations, Businesses, Team Bramble out trying to keep this town looking well, investing a lot of time and money into the effort,” read the post.
“We, the tax payer has to pay to have this cleaned up, it is our hard earned money that is used to clean up the mess left behind my selfish mindless yobs. An absolute disgrace and shame on you. You have no pride at all in where you live and don’t even pretend you have, your actions speak volumes. We however will continue to do our bit. Because for what it’s worth, we actually do give a damn,” the post finished.
