THE end of a chapter in the lives of sixth class pupils was marked at a special graduation ceremony in Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn on Thursday night.
The pupils have changed a lot over the past eight years (as you’ll see below), as has the school with the new extension opened and work on the astroturf pitch and ball wall in full swing at the moment.
There were 50 pupils graduating, most of whom have been there from junior infants, so strong friendships have been formed which will no doubt continue into secondary school as the majority will attend Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí this September.

The ceremony began with Mass followed by graduation speeches from Principal Cáit Uí Chonchúir who paid tribute to the pupils and sixth class teacher Deaglán Ó Cuill who gave some sage advice as they continue their educational journey.
Principal Cáit then had a kind word to say about each pupil before presenting them with their graduation pack.
Each pupil was presented with a Graduation Certificate, the Fáinne Ór in recognition of each pupils Irish fluency and a framed class photograph, a treasured keepsake of these 50 students eight years together in GSME.
The treats that followed were thoroughly enjoyed and Ollie’s Delights individual graduation cupcakes really were the icing on the cake after a most memorable and special occasion. Scroll down for photos including a trip down memory lane for many of the students…
