THE weather was unkind at times, but ‘Raiders Of The Lost Ark’ still has the power to transfix audiences as proven by the turnout in the Town Park on Friday night.
The heavens opened but Indy’s antics were enough to distract over 350 people from the rain as the Secret Cine Club’s opening screening of their summer season was a great success.
People started gathering in the Park (in the area near the playground) from around 8pm and three was a mix of different ages, from people who were awestruck watching it in cinemas for the first time in 1981, to teenagers watching it for the, well, probably 15th time.
There was a huge round of applause at the end so well done to all for organising such a great event.
The next Tralee screening from the Secret Cine Club is another Spielberg classic, ‘Close Encounters Of The Third Kind’, on Saturday, August 22.
