THE weather dried up yesterday afternoon so the walkers in the annual Tony O’Donoghue Walk could enjoy the scenery by the canal on another very successful fundraiser.
The ninth annual walk was held in memory of Tony from Blennerville who passed away in 2014 and tens of thousands of euro have been raised over the year in his name.
This year the event has raised over €5,000 and there was a great turnout setting off from the Windmill in Blennerville just after 4pm.

“A huge thank you to all the walkers,” said organiser Andrea O’Donoghue. “Over 100 registered for the walk and they came back to Quane’s to enjoy a burger and music by David O’Leary and DJ Mick afterwards.”
A total of 20 spot prizes were given out on the night and Andrea expressed her gratitude to all who supported on the day.
“It was absolutely fantastic to raise that amount. A comfort chair, games with a console and few wireless speakers are on the shopping list and we went way above our target. A big thank you also to Elma and Fionnbar Walsh for a €2,000 donation on behalf of the Donal Walsh Foundation,” added Andrea. Scroll down for photos…
