THE Austin Stacks GAA clubhouse at Connolly Park was packed on Monday night for two special events.
First of all, a special edition of Radio Kerry’s ‘Terrace Talk’ was broadcast from the club. Tim Moynihan interviewed club stalwarts, GAA legends and past and present players as part of the club’s centenary celebrations.
Afterwards, everybody went outside to the entrance to the grounds where a new stone monument was unveiled.

Chairman of Austin Stacks, Liam Lynch, said it was a great night for the club.
“The centenary is a special milestone so we’re celebrating the past the present and the future of the club over the course of the year. We’re very grateful for Radio Kerry and Terrace Talk for doing the programme. Tonight was fantastic because we had people from the old Stacks, the current Stacks, juvenile members, ladies club and hurlers. It shows how representative the club is and what we want to be.”
“Billy Leen did a fantastic job on the monument and Jim Finucane helped provide it. This is a monument that when my kids, grandkids and generations after come here, they will see there was a group of people back in 2017 that celebrated something very special and I hope the club will rise to further success on and off the field for the next 100 years as well,” said Liam.
