THERE were over 100 cyclists taking part in the Cycle Against Suicide Spinoff on Saturday afternoon and the support of the local community both in Tralee and Ballyheigue was inspiring say organisers.
The cyclists set off from Austin Stacks GAA Club in Connolly Park at around 2.30pm making their way around the 50km route to Ballyheigue and back where they took part in the Rose of Tralee parade.
“There were people who travelled from as far as Mayo and Dublin. The support from the local community meant so much, in particular Ballyheigue, who provided the lunchtime stop,” said one of the organisers,” Clodagh Moynihan.

The Cycle Against Suicide SpinOff series is an opportunity to help spread the Cycle Against Suicide message, that “It’s OK not to feel OK; and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help”, while simultaneously participating in an uplifting and positive event.
A SpinOff is a locally organised cycle that takes place once each month after the main 14-day Cycle around the island of Ireland ends.
The local community of Ballyheigue provided lunch and refreshments at the Community Centre and there was a Mental Health presentation, Reilki, EFT and Tai Chi workshops along with guest speakers.
They then set off to Tralee via Ardfert where a group photo was taken at Ardfert Cathedral, before being cheered on by thousands at the parade that evening. Well done to all on a great event. Scroll down for photos…
