WITH light winds and dry conditions, the competitors couldn’t complain too much about the conditions for the Tralee Marathon on Saturday.

Around 150 runners took off from outside the Aquadome at 9am and made their way on a route which saw them take in Barrow, Fenit and Ardfert before finishing on Neil Armstrong Way in Tralee.

Tommy O’Brien was the first home in 2:51:11 while Aidan Hogan in 2:55:53 and Robert Purcell in 2:55:54 came home together.

Charlotte Kearney was first woman home in 3:17:50, Catherine Sharpe in second at 3:26:01 and Paula Wright in third at 3:41:03.

Finishers received a special 50th anniversary Moon Landing medal honouring the time Neil Armstrong visited the town in 1997 and, of course, the landing itself. Well done to all who took part. Scroll down for photos…
