THE annual ‘Love Literature’ week began in Presentation Secondary Tralee on Monday  and it’s proved to be an exciting week for all those involved.

The event, which is hosted by the schools transition year students with the help of their teachers Ms. Joanna O’ Flynn and Ms. Norma Foley, is always a highly anticipated occasion.

The week was officially kicked off by Mr. Mark Leen as he performed the official opening ceremony, with his address to the students being enjoyed by all.

There was a hectic schedule of events for the week with designated events being provided for all year groups including visiting poets Brendan Murphy, Tony Curtis, John W. Sexton and Gabriel Fitzmaurice.

A full performance of King Lear was held on Thursday followed by the first years attending a special showing of ‘Paddington Bear’ on Friday.

Students dressed up as literary characters on Wednesday which created an amazing atmosphere in the school as people tried to outdo themselves with originality of costume – teachers included!
